The virtual gathering of ECOPPAM International’s Board of Directors and General Assembly, held on February 14, 2024, via Zoom, was marked by fruitful discussions and crucial decisions shaping the future of the organization. Chaired by Madame Carmen Gaba, the session brought together nearly all members to deliberate on various agenda items.

Upon the Board of Directors’ recommendation, the General Assembly approved, in accordance with the statutes of the AISBL :

1. Exclusion of Certain Members and Appointment of New Directors:

   The General Assembly endorsed the exclusion of specific members from both the General Assembly and the Board of Directors, along with the appointment of three new administrators to fill vacant positions. Consequently, Francoise Lejeune from FGTB Namur, Saloua Soumati from Morocco, and Adeline Ajuayé from Tanzania were appointed as Treasurer, Secretary, and Administrator of ECOPPAM International, respectively.

2. Approval of 2023 Financial Statements, Budget, and 2024 Activity Plan:

   The financial statements for the year 2023, the budget, and the activity plan for 2024 were ratified without debate, showcasing a genuine commitment to transparently advance common social projects among member countries.

3. Restructuring of ECOPPAM National Networks:

  A restructuring project for the national ECOPPAM networks was adopted to enhance the platform’s dynamism and focus the objectives of actions on promoting social protection in Africa.

Closing the session, the president expressed gratitude to all participants, emphasizing the importance of engagement and pre-understanding of documents for increased efficiency. ECOPPAM’s General Assembly and Board of Directors also extended their thanks to the European Association for Development (AEIDL) for its technical support throughout the meeting.

Moreover, ECOPPAM International is committed to establishing an international coalition of volunteers who share the organization’s vision, underscoring the need for close collaboration to advance social projects. This move emphasizes the organization’s dedication to fostering a global community working towards shared goals.
