The exchanges within the various working groups have brought forth multiple perspectives on policies addressing social exclusion and integration in the participating countries. Concerning the first theme, “social exclusion and youth migration,” the rapporteurs drew attention to the challenges faced by young people worldwide. Various factors contributing to the social exclusion of youth and driving them towards migration include social inequalities, mismatch between training offerings and employment market needs, lack of professional opportunities, discrimination, and economic barriers, among others.

The workshop participantsOn the second theme, “Social Inclusion and Integration,” emphasis was placed on the necessity of creating inclusive and tolerant societies that allow the integration of all individuals. To achieve this, the participants also proposed the implementation of policy initiatives to combat poverty and promote social inclusion.

They urged decision-makers to invest more in education, training, healthcare, etc. At the conclusion of these insightful presentations, Alias Onyadon took the opportunity to reiterate ECOPPAM’s action strategy and outlined the planned initiatives for the years ahead.
